It will hang down if placed on the first stage as a tank marker but if attached to a hose near the first stage it could be more visible

Nice a bright but as a night dive glow stick you still need to figure out how to add a float so it is visible above the diver and not buried in the vest

The only negative is the clip that it comes with is very weak i put a zip tie through the lanyard hole and that solved the issue for me
