Pros

The smart500rt1u appliance was easy to install in an eia equipment rack. It is easy to attach to a rack and easy to power up. Tripp lite makes similar models that are non-rack mount for different setups.

This ups is perfect for a small business server room. Works great in server racks so other equipment is louder. Runs in a nema box outside in extreme il weather. Works well in a storm.

Starlink kept chugging along just fine. I charge it every 3 months if i'm not using it and i keep it in an anvil rack so it is still like new.

Cons

It is quite loud and emits a buzzing noise in addition to the cooling fan noise. Plugging it back in, or after a batt test, the very loud squealing and buzzing returned.

Not impressed with longevity. The web interface is total garbage.

But it does its job, and doesn't go into a fault mode every time there's a power hiccup like the cyberpower unit it replaced.
