This is a metal surge protector and seem very well-made and heavy duty.
Works great and reached the outlet with no strain.
The problem is the internal components can get really hot and possibly melt and become a fire hazard if hit by a big enough surge.
From what i have read these plugs are cheap junk and can be a fire hazard.

Fyi, there are other brands of surge protectors that come with angle plugs, some of which cleverly rotate.
Unfortunately the one i received was a 1008 model a superior product but the manufacturers specs say the let through voltage is 4000v.

These tripp lite strips come with straight plugs which is ok but i wanted an angle plug so it could go behind furniture
