I used power strips and not surge protectors for a project because i want a switch for turning off devices that lack power switches without the electronics used for making a surger protector

I do not need the additional things in a surge protector to use a power strip to have a power switch for devices that lack power switches

If you use a ups it is not a good idea to hook a surge protector into it
