Worked well on my thinkpad t410 with a denon receiver. I also have a surround sound system connected using the optical out from the tv and all worked great.

Cons

The same problem with the head breaking existed in both of the cables i bought. Not isolated to a single defective item but is obviously a design defect. It is very hard to remove the cable from laptop after inserting it.

These cables are worth slightly more than scrap and trash. I would avoid purchasing. Very disappointing experience with this purchase.

Quality

I used this cable to extend the windows desktop to an hdmi capable monitor and i love the quality - of course better than dvi.

This cable provided me with the ability to hook up a television-type monitor for a smart-trainer.

I'd far rather just buy a quality product first and not spend hours troubleshooting what turns out to be a junky cable.

Slightly annoying and i have not seen this with the old vga connection.

Price

I spend a lot of time on my computer for both work and home so it is worth it to purchase and the price was great too.
