Highlights
Quality
A top quality product to eliminate isolation problems for most moderate power handling needs.
Works good at isolating and removing hum in audio and video equipment on different legs of a three phase power source.
Reuse the same capacitor and mov and you have a truly isolated setup, while maintaining input case grounding for fail safe.
Removing the grounds is not really a hazard per se, but it will add noise to the system and make everything worse.
Price
Definitely the best price for an item i would never find locally.
I've found this iso to be a good value for my lab bench, when restoring antique radios.
The price was right so i ordered it, knowing amazon's return policy is fair in case it didn't work.
Price was right and it's preventing me from being electrocuted.
Shipping
The tripp lite is250 was delivered one day ahead of time and was packaged very well.
Packaging/appearance
After driving a few electricians mad, i got this box and my guitar amps were silenced.
There was no sign of damage to the packaging so this was simply a qc oversight during packaging.
My only gripe is the poopy packaging.
Competitiveness
Nothing against those brands, as they work well other places, just not in my place.
I wish it had a little more bass, but that might be the record just as much as the phono amp.
Price-wise it may be better if you cand find it at a local electronics supplier or audio store.

The output receptacle is grounded via the chassis so you must replace it with an isolated ground version for tech purposes

Also note one side of the secondary is also tied to frame ground

As noted by others the other ground wire on the secondary side should be left connected

Unfortunately the new fence charger is incompatible with the gfci circuit that i use in my garden
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
When deer try to invade my garden they touch the fence wire and a small harmless charge gives them a mild shock

With the new fence charger this would look like a ground fault to the gfci breaker and the circuit would trip
