Pros

Tripp lite is about the best surge protector power strip you can get for under $100. The all-metal construction is super-safe.

Tripp lite is inexpensive, very well made, has 8 outlets. As a surge suppressor, it effectively eliminates static and electrical noise. It has filtering banks to help reduce interference and has actually fixed a ground loop issue i had previously.

The only thing to be aware of is that the spacing is a bit tight in some cases if you have a bunch of wider wall-wart type things to connect. It's easier to see where to plug into it with the contrast of color.

Cons

My biggest gripe here isn't with the shop which did a fine job of shipping their product - my gripe is however i don't feel that amazon does a good enough job of making it clear that this is a used product. It's obvious from the inspection date on the...  Read More

Hidden screws cannot be tightened and i dont want the unit falling off the panel when a plug is pulled.

Price

I think worth it for things that you can't afford to get zapped.

I needed a mid-tier priced surge protector that could handle the printer load and any electrical occurrences.

I have over $10k+ worth of sensitive gear plugged in including a pc, various high end audio gear, monitor etc.

This tripp lite is about $70 and a brick wall audio 8 outlet version is about $350.

Competitiveness

Don't hesitate on any tripp lite gear, it is all better than the competitor.

Quality costs money but buying these means not buying another one unless you need more of them

In addition while i would never trust a strip surge and emi suppression on its own particularly for surge as for surge its only as good as the ground path back its a nice secondary level of protection behind a wholehouse surge arrester and yes you should have one

Most will fit with a regular plug next to them but a large number will not fit with two of them sidebyside
