To prevent this problem the board designer needs to add tranzorbs which will protect the product.
So with the excessive age & possibly those blackouts, it should have already been replaced but i just wasn't aware.
I have not had an issue with the buzzing sound reported by some buyers.

If you get lucky and there is no permanent damage then a power offon cycle can fix your issue
