Pros & Cons
Pros
Wall wart plug is what gives this unit a 20 amp rating. Now, it has a 15 amp capacity. The orientation of the outlets is perfect for wall warts, as they don't end up blocking any neighboring outlets when plugged into the strip.
Fyi is a must on any rack. Plugged into ups and mounted to the back of my rack to keep the power cords out of sight.
Perfect fit and on/off switch is convienient. The covered reset and power switch helps protect from accidental activation.
Cons
The cord on this unit is only 14 awg, which is thinner than on the similar cyberpower unit. Standard phillips and flathead screw drivers are not able to get a bite to remove the screw. Had to drill it out; huge pain.
Highlights
Quality
Very good quality i have not se it for more details, so far no problem and easy fit on rack
All metal, with quality outlets, heavy duty cord.
Some issues i had were i feel the plastic cover over the power switch is ugly and useless and also hard to open.
They made the holes for the outlets/switches too big so they fit loosely and look all crooked when you look at them.
Price
This is reasonably priced for all of it's features.
Whatever is precious enough to warrant being rack-mounted, deserves good surge protection.
Highly recommend getting two for the price these are going for.
For the price they should use a flat type connector at an angle so that the cord does not have additional leverage.
Shipping
2 seconds with pliers fixed that, the email to amazon, the shipment returns, and waiting for another unit to come to me.
Ups in the rack only has 8 outlets, and i ran out.
Route is wall -> apc -> tripp lite outlet - > monitor / 2 servers / modem + router.
Packaging/appearance
The packaging arrived as expected and without incident.
Competitiveness
There are similar units by the same manufacturer whose capacity is 15 amps at a much lower price.
Plan on getting 3 more of these in addition to 3 more upss so that all three servers can have one power input of the redundant ... Read More
