Truefitt & hill shave cream does what it is supposed softens the beard, lubricates and moisturizes the skin, leaves an intriguing and unique aroma. My girlfriend often complements the way that i smell after shaving.
This venerable shave cream has a long, distinguished history, and deservedly so. Gives a great shave. This #10 has the pleasant experience of an old fashioned barber and that clubman talc they dust you with when you're done.
T&h 1805 and apsley are my favorite scents. Pairs *very well* with chanel bleu pro homme edt and underarm deodorant.

Cons
The lime scent is kind of non-existent. The scent is not in any way that of sandalwood.
The only decent attribute is it lathers relatively well with a good brush. It seems to dry on the face very quickly reducing the lubricant and cushioning quality. It causes razor drag and skin irritation.

I have been using mine since mid 1980s, same one, a quality product a real good deal.
This is the second time that i have used this product.
I suggest you use their a couple of drops of their shaving oil before lathering you face with the shaving cream.
Price
T&h costs more but it worth the price.
A little of this product goes a long way, so i am hoping that will help offset the cost.
Packaging/appearance
The packaging is beautiful, the scent is luxurious and most importantly it gives him an incredibly close shave.
Competitiveness
I've tried several shaving creams & soaps and have been consistently using tobs avocado almost exclusively for over a decade.
It might seem expensive, but i find it lasts longer than competing products and is a good value in the long run.

While it was great on my face it caused slight irritation on my neck and severe irritation on the back of my neck even with a new razor
