If you understand how splitters work then you should also understand that this does indeed provide a gain except it does it in a way different than a typical single port downstreamupstream amplifier might do it

If there was no gain it would act like any other 4 or 8 port splitter would work

If youre just trying to boost a single line this amplifier will do nothing for you as in that regard you will not see the gain
