The audio pass-through is quite convenient. All my projectors have vga and an aux audio currently.

My mother ended up with an ultrabook but it had only hdmi out

Her monitor on the other hand had only vga or the older dvia input so we needed a converter to bridge the gap

The adapter is supposed to go to 1920x1080 full hd but i was only able to test it to 1280x1024

The monitor has a builtin speaker which i was able to plug into the adapter so the only cable out is the hdmi connector

This item needs to be marketed to the many computer users with newer graphic cards that outputs only hdmi audio
