I amagine this has something to do with the quality of the dc current provided though the a/c adapters.

The charger i kept works great delivery time was fast returnig other charger was simple.
The price was low and the shipping was very fast.

Very efficient versus a ac adapter and charges at the rate designed.
As a bonus, much smaller than the acer 120v charger that came with the netbook.

The 12 volt plug on the old unit got so hot that the unit shorted out and died

I had imagined that since i already had the aforementioned ac adapter i would be able to use this charger both at home and in the car but there is a small tag on the unit which says it should only should be connected to an automobile cigarette lighter receptacle powered through the cars 12 volt battery
