It looks like braided, and is certainly as strong as braided. This thing is super slim and sleek.

This makes it possible to be hardwired in without obstructing my mousepad. Works great for plugging in my router to a port that is behind my couch. Perfect for what i needed in a 24 port switch even works with poe.
