I am not sure exactly what the material is but it's 'weighty' and very'solid-feeling' the lid fits nice and snugly into the top and there's a 'flip-type' lid action when used. I would heartily recommend this strikingly well made waste bin.

I was less concerned about the cost when the bin arrived as it was clear that its not made of a cheap plastic so immediately the money seemed well spent

It has more the feel of a hard bakolite or resin material

In the pictures you may be forgiven for assuming that the bin is perfectly round but its actually a veryrounded squarish shape which looks really good
