The l is a little more loose but now he just wears them both. This is what he has settled on. They have good stretch but do run a little small in my opinion.
Best compliment is that as my son is sizing up (youth large) we are replacing with more ua boxer briefs. He says they are way more dry than cotton which is a huge relief to me so he can avoid chafe and stank.
My almost 14 yr old grandson loves the comfort, the feel and the look. Buy these for a 7 year old. My * loves the sports spandex type for his boxers.
