Pros

The kurutoga mechanical pencil is one of the few pencils that actually have a mechanism of action beyond the lead. Internally it has a mechanism that spins the lead to keep the lead even. It rotates the lead as you write so you never have a side that'...  Read More

Cons

The metal piece retracts all the time. The eraser is tiny and it's difficult to use. The gimmick of the lead rotating is useless.

Lead no longer retracts in the pencil nor can i get the barrel to siphon lead into the dispenser so now i have the shell of a pencil. Lead hole is too small. It is completely jammed and we are not able to add a new lead or use it.

Quality

Best mechanical pencil you can get, i own several.

Best mechanical pencil i have ever used.

Once you get used to the rotating lead it ruins the writing feel of traditional mechanical pencils.

It’s not a bad pencil, but i feel the mechanism sounds great in theory, but isn’t applied easily.

Price

It's reasonably priced, making it accessible for most budgets without compromising on quality.

It's a great mechanical pencil at a decent price.

Packaging/appearance

Good news about the packaging: it appears to provide a wealth of information about the pencil.

The writing on the packaging is in japanese; however, i watched a video and realized i didn't need any further instructions.

Competitiveness

The endgame of mechanical pencilbefore i purchased this pencil, i worked with uni kuru toga elite/roulette mechanical pencil, s...  Read More

From my point of view, this version is the most successful version of all other kuru toga versions.

I compare using this pencil to writing with a ballpoint pen.

If you compare it to knurled grip on the elite version, it is nothing special.

I hated having to rotate my pencil when writing as staying on one side and the angle in which i write makes the lines thicker

As the led tip rotates as you press down at times it can feel awkward and mushy but if you get used to it it’s fine
