If you don’t have access to those people i highly recommend let company preprogram your scanner pay the extra to have them program scanner

However if youre new to scanning or amateur radio as a whole this scanner is extremely difficult to program and comes with no instructions

Maybe the digital one is the way to go but this unit keep me up with road conditions and issues from state to state
