Pros

Uniden bcd436hp homepatrol is loud enough for use with a whistler scanner. Built-in noise reduction works well.

Chevy makes a great truck but they also made the vega! Received this yesterday. Durable rugged design is an excellent buy for a great price. Please separate the different models and their reviews.

Cons

Can hear my distorted voice when transmitting, especially on 2 meters (144 mhz) this happens even when both the the audio and power cables are disconnected. The volume control (potentiometer) seems bad.

Instructions specify 15 watt amplified speaker. Max output of the amplifier is only 8 watts. And that is on a non-powered speaker.

It requires a 12vdc power supply and i am using it for an indoor scanner.

So worth the price compared to the base line genarics.

I bought a 120v to 12v converter for in home use.

It’s 25$ cheaper than the rugged radio version.
