It may be because of the waterproof nature of the device but the buttons seem to be using a single membrane which makes you have to push harder on each number you need to dial

I had noproblem registering the phone with the base by following theinstructions and it was able to share the phone book and workwith the answering system as well

This handset has a design flaw

The rubber that goes around the hand set comes loose and there is no way to get it back on

Once this happens the phone is no longer waterproof
