The gtx1000 is slightly better then these when it comes to signal and sound but those are not water resistant

People not even professional police or first responder radios have that kind of radius without the help of a large repeater antenna

The claim of 50 miles is very misleading but if you know anything about how radio waves work you would understand that the claim being made is based on very specific circumstance that both radios are in sight of each other with obstructions in the way like being on the ocean than 50 miles would be possible
