Pros & Cons
Pros
Easy to inflate, easy to deflate and easy to pack away. The foam & independent support nodules in the thermarest give the option of a much firmer mattress when fully inflated. On testing, the initial product is very long as some reviews mention — ... Read More
Compact and lightweight. The colour is very nice and the material is soft and silky.
The unigear mat is a great alternative to a roll-mat for side-sleeper sleepers. It is noisier than a foam mat, but is still comfortable and supportive.
Its really handy to have. Well worth the money. Very impressed and would highly recommend.
Cons
The problem with this product is, when you move on the bed at all it makes the loudest noise.
Out of pocket & very disappointed with mat. Just terrible.
Highlights
Quality
Not used yet but the quality looks and feels good, im sure it will do what it needs to do.
Haven't yet spent a night on it, but the quality seems good, it's easy to inflate and it's lightweight and compact when not in use.
However, the unigear pad is definitely not conducive to quality sleep in these temperature conditions.
On the other hand, the unigear probably requires 10 to 12.
Price
Actually surprised how good this was for the price.
For the price i struggle to think how it could be improved.
Packaging/appearance
Pack size:the unigear is less than half the pack size of the thermarest.
The foam & independent support nodules in the thermarest give the option of a much firmer mattress when fully inflated.
Competitiveness
Summary:the unigear ultralight is an ultra compact but comfortable mattress with superior reliability to that of its low cost competitors.
I think it is also a good compact item for a small bug-out bag.
Couple of short trips planned and a 2week motorcycle/camping euro trip so will update this.
The thermarest prolite plus is a higher end product costing roughly 5 times as much as this unigear ultralight model.
