The metal is thick and appears to heat evenly, especially over an open flame propane stove. It is also very stable on a burner. The drawback ; you need to hold it while you're waiting for the coffee to come to a boil.

Metal looks and feels extremely cheap and discolored right out of the box. This renders the item less convenient for use.
