My kids love these and the quality is unbeatable
Signal very good and voice pretty clear.
No spring just a straight thin plastic belt clip that i feel i am going to break.
Like a telephone or ethernet cable but they don't stay on.
Price
I like the option of multiple channels, distance range is excellent, for an inexpensive walkie talkie.
I ride windrock and anyone who rides there knows it's hard to get good signal out there these are awesome for the price you can't go wrong.
But for the price these are great, used them when skiing and never had range issues.
Competitiveness
I work with a lot of different radios for my job from the cheap kind to the very expensive kind so i have a lot of experience with them.
The channel voice announce is better than the annoying female voice used on the 888.
I think there are probably others at this price point that would be a better choice.

Distance is good depending on terrain but we have had good signal up to two miles

However make sure to also buy a programming cable and program to frsgmrs frequencies ones they come with are illegal to use also will allow you to communicate with other brand radios if you program them

And just to note even if you program these to frsgmrs frequencies technically they are still illegal to use since are not licenced by fcc to use on those frequencies fyi

One issue to note headset is not very comfortable ear hurts ofter an hour and sometimes headset would not transmit so you need to push back headset connector

I do wish since this was a brand new design they would have just gone for the usb c type plug but instead used the usb mini plug like most cell phones currently use
