Pros & Cons
Pros
The us weight umbrella base comes with two removable post collars. The two tightening knobs do a good job of holding the umbrella pole in place. Stainless steel post with two well made tightener screws.
Roller makes it easy to move and non marring. Easy to maneuver when filled.
This is the second one i bought. It's pricey but totally worth every penny! I spend a small fortune in time, energy, and moola buying stuff here on amazon.
The base is a heavy duty plastic. The black polymer material is very attractive, matching my flat black metal furniture. Very heavy but footprint not too large.
The umbrella base is doing a great job. I use it freestanding and the umbrella has not blown over once. I live in a florida condo close to the coast so my patio is frequently windy.
Cons
The new one is defective. The holes in the support tube that you screw the knobs into both have something wrong. The problem is i filled it with play sand (which was very time consuming because the hole is so small) and i couldn't even get a 50lb.
Highlights
Quality
Easy to assemble and easy to fill and the handle makes it easy to move around on our deck
It is very robustly built with high quality stainless steel so it will not rust.
The end of the knobs is rubber tipped for extra grip against the umbrella pole.
Less chance of water leaking into it if the plug doesn't seal up properly(i never did get a positive snap into place with the p... Read More
Price
Bought 3 of these at $64 each, they are awesome, very sturdy.
The price seems somewhat high but it is worth every penny after considering all the alternatives.
5 cu ft bag of pea gravel for $4.
Looking back, i wouldn’t spend the money as it is really nothing special.
Shipping
Shipping was fast and even the box they ship it in is very heavy duty.
Packaging/appearance
It arrived in good condition and was easy to assemble.
This was easy to load with concrete dry mix, there is a note on the box to not add water just the dry mix, for a 80 pound base weight.
Competitiveness
It fits underneath our round patio table (which previous purchase (different brand)) did not.
I suppose i'd purchase again, but if i found a similar product with a larger fill hole, i'd consider it instead.
You won't find a better stand for twice the price.
