I found the listing a little deceptive as the switch is for sharing various usb devices between two computers so that makes it not a kvm switch but a usb switch

The ports for pcs are labeled as blue and green and the led indicators switch between the two

Actually it does not require a 5v dc power supply to work in most cases however if you plug in the dc supply you can see which port is selected before you turn on the pc
