It still is usable but i expected it to be a lot faster. My laptop has thunderbolt 3 ports that can go up to 40 gbps. Windows sees the drive immediately, and it appears the advertised speed is accurate.

The slider in this enclosure is so much easier and it never falls out. I have another tool-less enclosure that has a small plastic peg you have to put in the notch in the ssd.

I was fooled by the high reviews. With the outer casing installed, the drive overheats severely. Its not aluminum its plastic so no thermal help so it gets scorching hot.

Firecuda nvme couldn't. Initialize -- that's when it dawned upon me that the issue was the enclosure. Update 2 -- crashing my macbook (type-c connection).
