To test the device i left the external drive directly attached to the laptop and used the hub for the keyboard mouse and thumb drive

I wouldnt want to connect two drives through the hub to copy from one to the other for example since the throughput would probably suffer considerably

I give extra credit that it comes packaged like a real product in a plastic tray in a box unlike so many generic items mostly made in china that have no branding and come in a plastic bag with just a label indicating what the product is

I would have preferred if the hub came with the four ports arranged two on each side rather than four across

I have some old thumb drives that are wide enough that they would obstruct any adjacent port
