I did not purchase blind i watched a lot of youtube reviews of various microphones

The physical gain control on the mic goes from 0 to 100 so fully anticlockwise the microphone is effectively off

The mute button led glows red when the mic is muted and turns green when the mic is in use

If you turn down the gain and use the mic close to you it will reject most of the other noise in the room

Turn the gain up and the mic will start to pick us noises like keyboard presses and mouse clicks

The pick up pattern is cardioid so noises off to the side will be rejected whatever the gain is set to
