Pros & Cons
Pros
Device takes either 3. Mm or 2. Mm headphones. All noise is gone. Sound quality and microphone is clear. Only con is that i'm only using this for my microphone and i will never be able to test out any of its other great features.
This inexpensive devise is fantastic. Better than the original sound board. Very simple to p;ug in and use.
Device presents itself in windows 10 without having to do anything other than plugging it in. Works great on ubuntu as well. Just plug and play, plugged it in worked great for me. Worked withouthaving to install software.
Cons
Headphone input causes white noise unless you have the mute button on. The * to mute mic/speaker are super hard to push.
"i'm not going to roll the dice twice on this, it isn't worth the time and effort just to be annoyed a second time" "didn't work for my use. Immediately returned for refund.
Volume knob is loose and wobbly. High end sound is muddy. The unit is plain black plastic with no markings at all.
Highlights
Quality
I like the volume control settings that i can set on this device, very well built.
The actual sound quality from this thing is great!
Bad (lazy and thoughtless) design on the manufacturers part where the dial can't be used to turn the volume down further.
It can only be made to be so quiet and there is a minimum volume.
Price
It would have taken several hours and about $100.
A lot cheaper than buying a new motherboard =)
That being said it serves my purpose and i have no major complaints considering the low cost.
Shipping
Eta: the seller contacted me and sent me a new adapter, which got here very quickly.
I also received it the very next day after ordering.
Competitiveness
Come on, msi - get it together!
I did have some concerns as to whether or not this would work as some other sound cards that i looked at did not work with linux.
