I could be a fine adapter for the application its made for but it wont work on my application as i either need a desktop computer by my radio which i dont have right now with an rs232 port or an ftdi chip adapter device to usb port so take this information for what it is and if its something you could use it probably will work fine

After having repeated random crashes i found online advice that the ftdi chipset may solve the issue

Then just launch putty for example select connection type serial and change the serial line to com3 or com5 whatever the computer decided on in device manager
