I recently purchased 3 hole boring kits and discovered that a very much needed allen wrench was not included in the kit

On the collar there are locating pins that must engage the selected hole saw

Once the collar is moved reward you can then change out the hole saw for the appropriate size

When this is completed you then slide the collar forward and engage the pins into the bit
