Ymmv. Best way to get the old ones out is the tip of a pen and gently pry up from the bottom. Place ball on top and gently apply pressure until you hear all 3 click into place. A little glue solved the problem.

However these balls although being rated as g5 are not exactly the same size

I first chose 3 biggest ones but when i closed the trackball it was too firm to move the ball and it was almost like the new bearings were scratching the red ball

So i opened up again and chose 3 smallest balls from the package

It worked great with smaller balls but with too many opening and closing i broke one of the tabs of the big redball housing

If you decide to do this be very careful when you try to pull that housing and make sure you have a couple of hours to work on it

They didnt snap into place very securely im not sure if they are slightly too large or if it was an issue with my particular mouse but a little glue solved the problem
