The little prongs that stick out the ferrites appear to be the problem

These are supposed to be 5mm and i had measured my ethernet cable diameter at about 4

I admit i may have bought these for the wrong scenario i was trying to reduce buzzing noise for an aux linein audio signal to my computer but this did nothing to reduce the noise
