Pros
Great for when kneeling for repairs or having to sit on a cold or wet surface. I find that cushioning is adequate when i sit on the pad over a relatively smooth rock or log. Perfect size to keep my backpack out of the water and mud.
Seriously, endlessly useful. Feels well made. Gotta say, my wrist loves it!

I havent used it on rockyabrasive ground so i cant comment on the comfort or durability in that usage

Unless you have a huge frame or are obese then the full pad should be big enough for most behinds
