You need to slide them on before cutting the lace ends

You will want multiple laces your first time doing this you can always push the buckle back and cut and melt again but you cant make them longer depending on the laces you use you might find after a week of ware they will stretch out and you might have to make them shorter

Also consider that you might want to set them up a bit loose then take the side back that would help center the buckle
