Pros & Cons
Pros
The box is heavy and sturdy. It anchors easily to attach to a wall. Very sturdy and heavyweight.
The box is very well packed. Arrived with prime free 1-day shipping in a sturdy cardboard box.
Overall very pleased with the product. This fits the bill perfectly!
Lock works perfectly everytime. I am sure it is made abroad (to be euphemistic about it), but it works fine so far. Almost flush clam shell lid helps against prying it open.
Changing the factory preset combination to one of my choosing was straight-forward and very easy to do. I'm visual learner and found it easier to understand than the written instructions. The combo method allows you to have two * as part of one combin... Read More
Highlights
Quality
Been using for 2 years, rugged, great, easy to change combo, no batteries, dependable.
This is a well built, sturdy safe.
The welds are very weak and very few, they are chinsy spot welds that are easily popped with a screwdriver.
I have had a bed-side safe that was battery operated for several years and found on more than one occasion that the batteries had died.
Price
This has been a great buy for the price.
Safe is perfect for my needs, and i feel like it’s the best value for the price.
It's not cheap (almost half of what i paid for my new pistol!
These are not inexpensive but you will never have to purchase another.
Shipping
Shipped fast, easy to set up, happy so far!
Less than zero stars for amazon originally sending out a damaged, previously returned product when first ordered.
Packaging/appearance
In fact this thing even came lovingly packaged inside of the nicest, heaviest cardboard box you'll ever see (i'm using the card... Read More
I did shake the box, but its got that great padding inside.
If i order a new product, i should receive a new product in original packaging, not a used, returned unit.
If you're shopping for a lock box then congrats, you've found it!
Competitiveness
The analog lock is faster and more reliable than the electronic counterparts.
I bought a similar v-line safe (perhaps it's just the older version of this same model) about 10 years ago and it has been 100% reliable.
This should be a minimum standard feature and is on all competitor products such as amsec, fort knox, titan, etc.
The brute has a much heavier gauge steel body but doesn't use a thick plate door like all of it's competitors use as standard.
