Pros
Although a bit pricey it's still at a much lower price than comparable sealers. This is the same one i bought locally used about 3 years ago. It is worth every penny.
The vacmaster has a stronger suction and a double seal. Plenty of space for sealing servings for a family of 4. This even seals mason jars!
Vacuum packed bags store excellent in fridge/freezer. Convenient for quick nuts and cheeses since it’s in the kitchen and the vacmaster is in pantry. A trip to costco no longer takes me multiple days to get everything packaged.
If you are capable of making the invest (upfront), this machine pays for itself in no time (if you do a lot of preserving food) it * out the air in the chamber so you can even do soup or gravy or any thing.
Cons
The oil pump also has some scratches on it as well the oil fill window. During the sealing process there is a lot of frustration trying to get the foodsaver to work right, but there was a button to click to talk to an expert. It's worse because ary do... Read More
Didn't work for long enough imo for $759. While the company has honored the warranty and replaced our defective units, the return shipping is not covered by warranty.

Quality
Love it works great , put up vegetables, and fish for the yr all in a couple days
It is one of the best investments i’ve made.
Try vacuum sealing water with a non-camber system, impossible; thick sauces used to drive me insane let alone soup, etc.
The control interface is fiddly, and cycling through the options every time i want to make a change is tiresome.
Price
The price on this thing made it tough to buy.
00 on the "popular" vacuum sealer and proprietary sealer bags.
We settled on a 70 dollar credit to live with the damage.
Its' barely more expensive than a small bag, then when you open that bag, cut just below the seal.

A few days later i discovered amazon struck out my review and "took" responsibility for the poor delivery experience.
Soon thereafter, i received the shipment notification & a few days later, the lid.
Packaging/appearance
I spent over a grand in the end and i got an open box and what appears to be a used unit.
Update: the way it was packaged made it look like an open box, but inside was new.
Regarding the unit: you get what you pay for & if you do a lot of vacuum packaging, this unit is well worth it.
Competitiveness
I recommend this highly as a good reliable vacuum sealer, much much better than those one you buy at walmart.
Can't even compare to a foodsaver brand, and we have owned many over the years.
The other brands with cycle memories may be more convenient if you use several bag thicknesses, but i chose price first.
At least it should be easily replaceable aftermarket even if vacmaster goes out of business.

One thing is it seems you need to shut the lid pretty hard sometimes for it to seal
