Pros
I am extremely impressed with the vacu vin wine saver set. It was recommended to me by a friend. It is worth paying the extra over cheap copies which don't work properly.
Keeps the flavour of the wine from deteriorating. If you are drinking your wine over two to three days, this keeps it fresher. The only reason i had to order a new set is that i keep losing the rubber bungs.
It is great that it makes a click when all the air has been dispelled from the bottle. And the reassuring click indicates job done. With some other makes you have to guess at when to stop pumping.
Cons
The vacuum pump received from gadget den is a cheap chinese imitation, not a vacu vin. The old corks kept wine good for a considerable length of time - these do not, they leak.

If you are drinking £60+ bottles of wine, then go for the expensive gas device.
Saved more in wine than its cost to buy within two weeks
You can get cheaper but i have no idea if they would be as nice.
Packaging/appearance
Would be nice if it came with the champagne fitment too.
Competitiveness
Don't waste money on other similar problem, this one is one of the best.

Don't know if it's much better than a simple cork, but it works very well and i'm glad i purchased it.
