Pros & Cons
Pros
Despite minor inconveniences, the overall tea experience is great. It is strong.
The flowers have a strong, fresh scent. I believe that these are older petals used at the time of harvest rather than younger ones. The dried lavender flowers are fresh and fragrant.
My favorite is the cardamom chai. The calorie/carb/sugar is way lower than any of the other chai lattes.
Cons
The bergamot aroma now seems artificial and chemical. It tastes musty and old, kind of like drinking water that sat in a dirty cup for several days.
I am not a tea snob by any means, but this was really bad. Very disappointed with this earl grey tea. Not recommend it.
Nobody sells expired product. Of course it's not eligible for refund.
Highlights
Quality
Excellent compression and works well in my ninja coffee/tea maker on tea function
Once you pull/tear flowers off block, flowers have a strong sweet aroma and made good tea.
I have been making chai latte (which i learned "how to " in india) from scratch for over two decades.
We place that bag inside another airtight container and portion out only as much as we use over a month or so.
Price
The bags are available again but this is great too -- so much tea for the price!
The company donates 1% of its revenues toward educating the children of the farmers they buy from.
It's kind of pricey, but i would say it's worth it.
It won't be the best assam you'll ever have, but for the price it's quite good.
Packaging/appearance
I appreciate the beauty and functionality of the packaging too.
This tea came packaged really nicely and the tea leaves were vacuum-packed to ensure freshness.
The lavender comes in a large vacuum packed bag…which was a bit of a shock for me.
Competitiveness
It’s better than what i can get at my local grocery store and lasts me a good while!
I’ve made a similar tea at home using gunpowder green tea plus cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and roses but it’s quite different from this one.
