The hub will only supply enough power 5v to power a single portable hard drive plus an sd card when plugged into the macbook only

The bad or so i thought but its the macbook 12 psu not the hubs faulti also have a 4tb seagate portable drive which consists of two 2tb hard drives in a single enclosure the macbook 12 when used with apples own usbc to usb3 dongle doesnt supply enough power to mount the drive the drive must require a bit more than the standard 5v

So i was hoping that when the hub was plugged into the power it would supply enough juice to mount the drive as well but it doesnt
