The mattress sits on the top of the frame rails with nothing between the sides to protect it from sliding off. It doesn't sink the mattress down enough. Also, brand new mattress inches off the bedframe.

I got to the end up putting bed together and last 2 slates were way too long to fit at top of headboard.

I was in a bit dilemma since the price was so reasonable but it's very sturdy, worth every penny.
