Works just as well as the higher priced brands that claim to 'hug' your clothes from certain tv shopping networks.
I own a few brands of velvet hangers and these are just as nice as the more expensive brand.

Also i like to hang my backpacks so because of the metal neck and body when i hang them the shoulder of the hanger wont bend downward

Also the purple stuff makes clothes not slide off but it doesnt stain your clothes nor does it flake off onto your clothes
