Anyways its got wires attached to them and all of them are labeled.
It's 20 amp and most home circuits are 15, they use different wires gauge 12&14 and are supposed to use different sockets as well.

It comes with an extra plug in case you need it, i put it inside the box with the wires so i don't lose it.
The box also comes with an additional knockout cap.
The box also comes with a reset button if the internal breaker needs to be reset.
Opening the box requires the removal of a phillips screw to access the 12-gauge wire connections.

The veepeak manual generator transfer switch is rated at 20 amps meaning that it is good for use with smaller generators that only output 110v and not 220v like my portable honda 2000w inverter generator

I wanted to add a manual transfer switch to the garage side so that i could activate it in the garage prior to going down to the basement of the house to transfer the load on to the generator

The needs in the yurt are pretty modest so a 20a circuit is plenty

It i can also switch the plug to a generator if both the main power is out and the solar setup is under revision

Its weatherproof but i still mounted it under the edge of the yurt platform for extra protection especially when somethings plugged in

Wiring it up was simple i just broke the line feeding the yurt outlets and connected them inside the box

I havent had a need for the reset switch and dont feel that intentionally tripping it is a good idea but its there

There is a middle position if you dont want any power going downstream but ill still unplug the inverter and shut off the breaker in the panel for safety anyway
