It needs to be plugged into an outlet i am not sure if this is common for an hdmi switcher which is the only negative thing i have to say about it

The power was attached to the switch in standby when using the ps4 the screen would randomly go black before returning to the ps4 screengame movie etc

After having this frusterating problem and doing some reading others said it was a lack of power issue

Basically power needs to be attached to the most used input because anything else in standby mode is not enough power for the hdmi switcher to work properly
