The vetroo v5 is a perfect drop-in replacement / upgrade for dell intel computers. The fan & heatsink are excellent.
Generally i find opposite screws in an x pattern is the safest bet. Be sure to wipe off the cpu with an alcohol pad and use the included thermal paste before installing the radiator.
Cons
V5 installation is impossible. This one has the worst bracket for intel cpu ever. It is audible with the side panel secured and annoying. Or 4 of the top nodule fin things came warped and super malformed. Tension on the springs for the mounting screws... Read More

Oh yes, the dell 8960 pancake fan that is standard used to idle up and sound like a woodchipper, it was unbearable.
Almost all these cooler have mounting holes drilled into the mounting brackets sized for the different size cpu's sockets.

First of let me state it is a great cooler for the price.
I started looking at this one since it was so cheap.
The price of it was very reasonable.
Packaging/appearance
Bought it for my barbie/lisa frank themed pc and it looks awesome!
They also came protected and were very smooth.
Competitiveness
Works better than stock fan for amd.
It has adjustable mounting brackets for both amd and intel mother boards.
I bought the black color version which should have better emissivity overall than the other variants.
I got a little confused with the amd sticker on the intel bracket but figured out i had to use the bracket that came with my motherboard.

I needed a replacement fan after my cpu mysteriously began overheating and i found out that the back clips on my old fan stock intel cooler had fallen apart after apparently turning brittle

This fan made me realize just how cheap and foolish i had been by leaving the stock intel cooler instead of just buying an aftermarket cooler
