When i started to pump, it sounds like somewhere leaking. Obviously this is a defective product and i've had nothing but headaches since receiving it.

Good product, very easy assembly ( just use a slow in and back method if handle screws are stiff).
Seems well built to me and i'm happy.
Use legs and body weight, take breaks after 20 pumps and five minutes after 80-100 pumps.
Only two pieces to assemble air pressure gauge and handle.
Price
The price i paid was remarkably good.
