Pros & Cons
Pros
Watts. It's not necessary but it draws a lot of power and you'll be much happier not worrying about something going wrong. It heats up our sauna up to 174°f which is perfect. The key is insulation.
Cons
This unit produces very high levels of formaldehyde! It's really disappointing that this is the only 2kw heater available on the market and it's such a piece of trash. The unit has a one year manufacturer's warranty, which the vendor won't acknowledge... Read More
Highlights
Quality
The next step up for sauna quality is 2-4x the price so it's a relative value and looks fine.
I used 2 layers of polyurethane foam sheets with the inner layer being foil faced for a vapor barrier then the cedar on top of that.
None are included with the heater and yes, they are vitally important.
Bought the 9khw 220v and its serviceable.
Shipping
The first one i ordered had obviously been bashed around in shipping and had a nice dent in the housing.
We had one manufactured and the seller refunded a part of the purchase price to avoid unnecessary shipping costs back and forth.
Packaging/appearance
While i'm not a fan of excessive packaging; this heater needs more protection than it is currently getting.
Competitiveness
Heats my 5x7 ft outdoor sauna up to 175f in about 20-30 mins.
We didn't have an 220v outlet, so this little guy is great.
If you have a 220v version then it's putting out so much heat that lack of perfect insulation can be forgiving.
So, i was replacing/restoring an old healthmate sauna, and needed a new heater.
