Pros & Cons
Pros
On the low setting it is very quiet and barely noticeable. The high setting is louder but not so loud that you can't have a conversation. Admittedly the blower on high is noisy but the low is quiet and still does the job.
The reservoir is easy to fill, big plug on the underside, you fill it and then carry it upside down (easily) back to the base. I have to refill them every day, i run them on high & never shut them off until it's time to pack them up when the wood ... Read More
This vicks vev400 filtered cool mist humidifier works great. With a couple of allergy sufferers and those with asthma in the house a cool mist humidifier is a must have item.
The humidifier comes with a filer pad which is supposed to filer minerals from the water. Flipping the filter over seems to help. I'm not sure how costly the filters will get yet, but i am thankful that my sinuses have improved from using this product... Read More
This humidifier is compact and doesn't take up much room. It is large so you definitely need to make space for it to have it close to your bedside.
Cons
Second time this machine has leaked a 1/2 to a full tank of water and ruined my wooden night stand. I'm lucky it didn't drip water down it's cord and possibly cause a fire! Leaked everywhere. The fan on this one makes a terrible noise whenever it is t... Read More
This filter is tight and needs to be mashed to fit. The filter is ~$10/ea. If you need medicated mist, this is not the device for you.
Highlights
Quality
Works well with the filters, no cleaning required of the unit.
It’s easy to maintain and the filters are a snap to replace.
The filterless put out much thicker moisture, and it visibly drops down on the way to the floor.
It sounds like a leaf blower and after a while it started making some strange noises on low.
Price
To put a real humidifier on your furnace could cost you upward of a couple of thousand dollars.
I found mine brand new at a thrift store for $10, but i would have paid full price for this unit also.
The scent pods are pretty pricey and pretty useless.
