Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

These traps are reusable. Using a pointy grip tool and screwdriver can empty the trap to be reused or toss it away.

They are very touchy and a little hard to set but the extra effort is worth it. Only dislike is the finger issue and how some of the traps do not stay set and will snap before you set it down.

Cons

The action of setting the trap pulls the small copper wires that hold the spring bar out of the wood base. The traps are not pre-baited as indicated by the image for the product. Everyone of them the trip wire is short not allowing to set the trap!

It is not worth my time to return this junk to amazon; so into the trashcan they go. I am sure the victor company does not suffer losing the business of this very old man, but perhaps you younger folks can learn from my experience and save your money....  Read More

Quality

I have used these traps for years they work better than any other snap trap a little hard to set very sensitive but gets those mice

Easy to bait with peanut butter and work great in my green house because the mice destroy my seeds

So you can hot glue or super glue a piece of dog kibble on the trigger mechanism, this way they bite and tug and set off the trap.

After using a newer market trap i came back to this reliable wood snap and caught the mouse!

Price

This is definitely great to provide affordable coverage to multiple locations in your house.

Shipping

A dab of peanut butter and i caught four of them in two days and haven't seen any since.

Competitiveness

The victor brand makes the best mouse traps.

You can also chew up a piece of bitter honey or other chewy candy or warm it in the microwave and wrap it around the metal tab or stick it on the yellow tab and when it cools it will be hard and somewhat permanent

The metal tab often does not get triggered but the plastic tab triggers more effectively

I like the ability to set the sensitivity so they dont trip prematurely when placing them

Really need to be careful with your fingers when setting them
